Jimmy Buffett needs no introduction. We all know “Margaritaville,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Fins” and “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” his hit country duet with Alan Jackson. So as we prepare for another Buffett concert excursion with his beloved Parrotheads, let’s point out a few nuggets of news about the enduring singer-songwriter.

He will have a new live CD-DVD release this summer, Welcome to Fin City, which he recorded in Las Vegas last October. The current tour, dubbed Lounging at the Lagoon, will take him and his band across the United States through the rest of 2012. Buffett’s first digital-only album release, Volcano — Live 2011, is on sale for download at iTunes. It features new live versions of the songs from the classic Volcano album from 1979.

Finally, the virtual game Margaritaville is also online. It’s an island world celebrating the Margaritaville lifestyle with music and adventure. That sounds like signature Jimmy Buffett.
