Lura Ellis-Newcome’s Funeral Arrangements & Celebration of Life

Update:

Dear Phlock,

For Happy Hour on Friday, September 19th we have decided to make it a covered dish affair thanks to Kelly. Nothing fancy just snacks and/or finger foods. Elaine and Larry will be bringing the Margaritaville shrimp as well. If you are planning to be at Happy Hour please let me know so that we can be sure to have enough for everyone. We will start with drinks around 5:00ish PM and we will start with the food between 6:00PM-6:30PM to give everyone a chance to get there.

With kind regards,

Tom Kogutkiewicz

Update:

Dear Phlock,

There has been a change in the meeting place for Lura’s service on Thursday, September 18, 2014. The Giggling Mackerel can not accommodate the number of people planning to attend Lura’s services. The new venue is The Ocean Isle Beach Community Center, located at 44 West 1st Street, Ocean Isle, NC 28469 (Directions) and the time remains the same at 5:00PM.

With kind regards,

Original Announcement:

Dear Phlock,

Lura’s service will be on the beach at Ocean Isle, North Carolina on Thursday, September 18th at 5:00 pm. The plan is for everyone to meet at The Giggling Mackerel Seafood Grille at 65 Causeway Drive, Ocean Isle Beach NC and walk to the beach for the service. Lura’s sister has made arrangements for parking for everyone who will be attending the service. Here is the website for The Giggling Mackerel, www.gigglingmackerel.com.

HR has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Palmetto Parrot Head Club Alzheimer’s Fund in Lura’s Memory. Lura did love to get donations for the Fin Fest silent auction each year!! This donation will be especially meaningful with the upcoming walk on October 25th.

For those who cannot travel to Ocean Isle we will be having a special Happy Hour on Friday, September 19th in Lura’s honor. Barbie is contacting Kelly to see if we can go to the TLCB from 5’ish PM until to celebrate Lura’s life. We can sit on the patio and no one will bother us there. Lura liked going to TLCB and we thought this would be easy for everyone to get to. If there are any changes we will let you know.

With kind regards,

Tom Kogutkiewicz
