Dear Phlock,

It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that we have lost one of own, Lura Ellis-Newcome. As many of you know Lura was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year. Lura fought her cancer with courage, grace and dignity. She was a great friend to us all. I would like to thank all of you who have helped Lura and her family over the last several months. I have no doubt that she appreciated everyone who visited her, made arrangements to help get her to doctor’s visits radiation and/or chemo appointments, bringing food to her & HR, for keeping her spirits up, and for being her friend most of all. Lura will be greatly missed by all of us. Please keep her family in your prayers as they go through this difficult time. At this time, I do not know what the funeral arrangements are but I will keep your posted.
